A bridleway runs from Ox Moor Lane near Hunsingore to Scate Moor Lane, crossing the railway near Whixley crossing. Here the 1306 Leeds to York (2C14) service is crossing the line formed of 170477 as it makes its way towards Cattal.

The Harrogate Line is a rail line through parts of North Yorkshire and the West Yorkshire Metro area connecting Leeds to York by way of Harrogate and Knaresborough. The service is operated by Northern Rail, with a few additional workings by East Coast. Metro's bus and rail MetroCard ticket is available for journeys between Leeds and Harrogate. The line opened in 1848.
