Lintz Green Viaduct
Lintz Green Viaduct
Lintz Green Viaduct carried the former Consett Branch railway across the valley of the Fogoes Burn and was numbered as Bridge 65.
The viaduct is used by walkers on the 12 mile Derwent Walk path which follows the railway trackbed from Swalwell to Shotley Bridge and Consett.
Derwent Walk

The Derwent Valley Railway from Blaydon to Consett operated from 1867 to 1953. It has now been converted into a popular walking and cycling path, part of National Cycle Network, route 14. There is an ongoing proposal that the railway might be reinstated.
