taken 3 years ago, near to Willington, North Tyneside, England

Point Pleasant railway station (site), Tyne & Wear
Point Pleasant railway station (site), Tyne & Wear
Opened in 1902 by the North Eastern Railway on the Riverside branch (which was a loop line following the north bank of the River Tyne between Byker and Percy Main), this station closed in 1973 and was demolished.
View west towards Carville, Byker and Newcastle. The camera position is on the former track-bed near the end of the two parallel platforms. Later house building to the right has partly encroached on the site.
