Cattal station serves the village of Cattal. It is located on the Harrogate Line 10.5 miles west of York and is operated by Northern who provide all passenger train services.
Cattal is at the western end of a dual track section from Hammerton. Eastbound trains are timetabled to arrive first on the dual track section, so as to clear the single line westwards towards Knaresborough. The level crossing here still has manually-operated metal gates and a ground-level signal box. The station buildings are now privately owned.
The station opened in 1848.

The Harrogate Line is a rail line through parts of North Yorkshire and the West Yorkshire Metro area connecting Leeds to York by way of Harrogate and Knaresborough. The service is operated by Northern Rail, with a few additional workings by East Coast. Metro's bus and rail MetroCard ticket is available for journeys between Leeds and Harrogate. The line opened in 1848.
