Battle of Britain memorial at Kenley Aerodrome
Kenley is the last of London's Battle of Britain fighter stations to survive in its Second World War form and English Heritage (in 2000) identified Kenley as "The most complete fighter airfield associated with the Battle of Britain to have survived". You can see the grass banks of blast bays where Spitfires from one of Kenley's three squadrons sheltered. The officers' mess and one of the operations huts still stand and near to this point is a fine memorial. Kenley is now a glider training school.

This memorial is near one of the pens which was designed to protect the planes from attack from the air. See also Link
