Old Boundary Marker at Tynemouth Priory and Castle
War Department Boundary Marker standing in the grass behind railings against the southeast side of the approach road to Tynemouth Priory and Castle. Inscribed W ↑ D / BS on its top face. A number would normally be shown but this is unreadable. Old OS maps show War Department boundary stones only on the opposite side of the approach road so it is possible that the stone has been moved at some time.
