This was the last twin screw steam powered cable laying vessel to be active in British waters and was sold abroad for either scrapping or re-engining. Final fate unknown. Seen off Pounds Scrapyard, Tipner.
Access was up a rope ladder from the wheel house roof of a small workboat. We came off on the falling tide just before we would have been stranded.
