Signal and level crossing
Marston Moor level crossing allows the Harrogate Line to cross Marston Lane. This used to be a station along the line, but it closed to passengers in 1958 and for parcels in 1967. The signal on the right is Marston Moor No.4 which is the Down Home signal protecting the crossing. The operation of the level crossing can be seen in this video: LinkExternal link

Harrogate Line (provided by N Chadwick)

The Harrogate Line is a rail line through parts of North Yorkshire and the West Yorkshire Metro area connecting Leeds to York by way of Harrogate and Knaresborough. The service is operated by Northern Rail, with a few additional workings by East Coast. Metro's bus and rail MetroCard ticket is available for journeys between Leeds and Harrogate. The line opened in 1848.
