The hospital is a charity providing rehabilitation and care for people with complex disabilities. It supports people that live with acquired or traumatic brain injury, neuro-disability or long-term neurological conditions. See the hospital's website LinkExternal link. In 1854 the Reverend Andrew Reed established The Hospital for Incurables in Carshalton, Surrey. It moved to Putney in 1858, and to its present site in 1863.
