On the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Steam Railway at Toddington Station. No. 4079 is Pendennis Castle and was visiting from Didcot for a three day gala event. Pendennis Castle was the 7th to be built of the 171 Castles and was completed in 1924. It is a 4 cylinder 4-6-0 express passenger engine and was in service until 1964 when it immediately entered private preservation. In 1977 she left England for Australia and was then owned by Hamersley Iron who demonstrated her on their line. She returned to Didcot in 2000 having become only the second steam locomotive known to have circumnavigated the world (after Flying Scotsman). She was returned to steam at Didcot in 2022 and is appearing as guest engine at UK steam galas in 2023.
