NZ1984 : Golf clubhouse

Golf clubhouse
Golf clubhouse
The clubhouse for Morpeth Golf Club, looking very smart after a recent refurbishment. The golf course was opened in 1906, and I suppose the clubhouse dates from then. However, old maps show a house called Low Common House on this spot, so it is possible that this formed the basis for the clubhouse. The name comes from Morpeth Common, which occupied this area south of the town in earlier times. The clubhouse stands beside the B1337 (former A197), the main road into town.
