St Mary's Church, Morpeth
St Mary's Church, Morpeth
This was the main parish church until 1848, when St James Church was built in the centre of town. St Mary's dates back to the 12th century, although most of the building is 14th century. However, it proved to be too far away from the centre when the town expanded on the north side of the river in later centuries.
