At the time of the Titanic in 1912, Cobh was known as Queenstown after Queen Victoria. It was the last stop for the Titanic after Southampton and Cherbourg before it set off across the Atlantic. Queenstown was the station where the Irish emigrants came in before being ferried out to the ship. A new station has been built just beyond it and the old station is now ‘The Queenstown Experience’ - see Link

A total of 123 passengers - 63 men and 60 women - boarded at Queenstown. Some of the posters even offered tickets for the return trip!
