Harrogate station is located on the Harrogate Line 18.25 miles north of Leeds railway station. Northern Rail operate the station and provide nearly all passenger train services except a daily East Coast service to and from London Kings Cross.
The station opened in 1862.

The service is operated by Northern Rail, with a few additional workings by East Coast. Metro's bus and rail MetroCard ticket is available for journeys between Leeds and Harrogate. The line opened in 1848.
