Esholt Sewage Works, the press house
I have a feeling this is the day we went to the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television to see Ian Beesley's superb exhibition entitled "Through The Mill". This showed the press house at Esholt and we decided that we must go and see it. Esholt used to extract the lanolin from the effluent coming from the mills and woolcombers. This huge building contained over 100 huge filter presses but was empty by then and is now a roofless shell. The architecture is monumental.
