'FEET 5000' stone on North Bull Wall, Dollymount
There are five stones shown on old maps, from 1000 to 5000 feet, but the 'FEET 1000' stone may now be missing. The North Bull Wall was begun in 1820 and completed in 1825, and together with the earlier south wall has succeeded in keeping the navigation channel clear for shipping. There is an Ordnance Survey pivot benchmark on the top of the stone pillar O2235 : Benchmark on the 'FEET 5000' stone, North Bull Wall
