Stilling basin of the Weir at Parson's Pleasure, River Cherwell
A photo of the stilling basin area beneath the weir at Parson's Pleasure, Oxford.
In the foreground are rollers that allow punts to be portaged to above or below the weir, with upright metal barriers at the bottom of the rollerway. The water level is quite low; the entire steps and rollerway are visible.
In the background can be seen Fignon Bridge, which is part of the Marston cyclepath. It is under renovation in this image.
