The former Fisher Theatre from the Hungate car park
The Fisher Theatre (with the skylight windows) was opened in Beccles in 1819, it ran for a number of years but was failing by 1844. The Fisher family sold the theatre in 1845, which was transformed, and by 1857, had become the Corn Hall or covered market and indoor badminton court. It remained well used into the late 1950s when it became part of Lloyd's Bank, already part of the same building.
