St Aidan, Harehills: north ambulatory
A brief fashion in church architecture around the end of the 19t century was to have narrow walkways or ambulatories around the perimeter of the church, rather than side aisles wide enough to take seating.
St Aidan's church, Harehills, Leeds

An Anglican parish church on Roundhay Road, also used by a number of immigrant communities for worship in their own languages. The parish is officially Leeds St Aidan, but it is known locally as Harehills. The church was built 1891-94, architects R J Johnson and A Crawford-Hick of Newcastle, but it was not completed internally until 1916, when the outstanding mosaic decoration of the chancel was completed by Frank Brangwyn.

It is listed grade II* (list entry 1256175) and officially classed as one of a small number of "major churches" for its size and architectural significance.
