SS8740 : Quarme valley

taken 17 years ago, 3 km from Exford, Somerset, England

Quarme valley
Quarme valley
The valley is much steeper on the south side, Kitnor Heath, from which the photograph is taken, but the slopes rise much higher on the north. Codsend Moors, on the right, climb to Rowbarrows and, not far to the east, Dunkery Beacon. Patches of woodland line the river, which is here still in its infancy.
