The slate set into the ground reads 'Welcome to Plymouth. Please wipe your feet'. I don't know whether that's intended to be humorous, or perhaps dates from the 2001 Foot and Mouth Disease outbreak or similar?
The South West Coast Path
The South West Coast Path is England's longest waymarked long-distance footpath (and one of the longest in the UK) and a National Trail. Anti-clockwise, it stretches for 630 miles (1014 kilometres) from Minehead in Somerset, along the coasts of Devon and Cornwall, to Poole Harbour in Dorset.
