Warwick Bridge Mill - disused winnower
Although the mill is still working this part is not in use as it was associated with the production of oats. Oats are milled twice by conventional stones and the first milling (with the stones quite widely separated) scours the oats to loosen the husks and this winnower then separated the husks from the oats. The oats were then ground again and graded in an oscillating sieve. The mill also has a later oat roller that used steel rollers.
The mill does still mill dehulled oats in a set of French Burr stones and this kit is not required.
