Flood lagoon, Willerby
Flood alleviation lagoon seen from Great Gutter Lane West. It is one of a number put in place around the city of Hull as part of various flood alleviation schemes, designed to intercept and store excess surface water after severe rainfall.
Given that in previous weeks there had been prolonged periods of heavy rainfall, I had expected to see more water in this facility. In fact it was only slightly more waterlogged than my back lawn. I understand that some of the other lagoons around Hull had been fuller than this one.
