International House, Hull
International House, Hull
At 96/98 Westbourne Avenue, originally a pair of semi-detached houses, now combined to provide communal accommodation. The houses date from 1877-9 but were acquired by the Methodist Church in 1961 to house students from all over the world, in a diverse mix of religions, ethnicities and backgrounds in a supportive, friendly community LinkExternal link .

The buildings are part of a group of eight houses by George Gilbert Scott, a leading exponent of the Queen Anne style. They are thought to be the only surviving examples of his domestic architecture.
