War memorial at Clarence Place
War memorial at Clarence Place
The War Memorial is in Windmill Hill Gardens at the foot of Windmill Hill, keeping company with tennis courts and a bowling green. It is the main war memorial for Gravesend and the close up seen at Link gives an idea of the sheer number commemorated.

The white building beyond in Clarence Place was a Sikh Temple but has been derelict for a number of years. It has been replaced by the vast Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara which was opened in November 2010 and cost £15 million to build. It is the biggest Gurdwara in Europe hosting facilities for Sikhs.
