Tower mill and attached drying kiln. Mill dated 1794, by Ralph Slater.
Altered c1850 and in 1896, extensive repair in 1964, and restored to full working order 1986-90. Drying kiln fully rebuilt 1988-89. Six storeys with four patent sails and winding by fantail. The sails are now turned by an electric motor drive. The interior contains four sets of stones, a jogscry (shaking sieve) and a wire machine. Visited as part of Heritage Open Days with a guided tour. This view is a wire machine used for grading flour and located on the meal floor or third storey.
