Geograph - photograph every grid square

The only activity of significance apart from mountain sheep farming within this grid square is the silver lead mine, long since disused as a working mine (this was an 18th/early 19th century enterprise), but now running as a mining museum with overground and underground tours and known as the Silver Mountain Experience. The hillsides in this area are littered with old workings and spoil heaps.

Also of subterranean interest is the water tunnel forming part of the Rheidol hydro-electric power scheme from the Nantymoch Reservoir down to the Rheidol Power Station. This cuts diagonally across the top left hand corner of the square at some depth.
