Approaching the underpass by which the path crosses the A563 Soar Valley Way (part of Leicester's outer ring road). From here, it looks as though the road is at the same level the railway line was.
Great Central Way, Leicester
The Great Central Way is a 3.5 mile footpath and cycle path between Glen Parva (in Leicester's southern suburbs) and Braunstone Gate (on the western edge of Leicester city centre, close to the De Montfort University campus). It largely uses the trackbed of the London Extension of the former Great Central Railway, this section of which closed in 1969. Apart from approximately one mile at the north end, it is a public bridleway.
