Military plaque, Belfast
I admit that I have passed this plaque many, many times without stopping to look at it. It records the founding of the 35th Regiment of Foot LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) by Arthur Chichester (who owned much of Belfast and surrounding area) in 1701. It is on the former Anderson & McAuley’s store J3374 : Former Anderson & McAuley's, Belfast (detail) in Donegall Place. See also J2664 : Headstone, Lisburn cathedral (1).
