The footpath along the River Derwent from Allensford to Shotley Bridge starts from beside the old farm here. The path runs from the left hand side of the gateway, but is not very well signposted. The sign is fixed on the tree in the centre, beside the path. The path runs along the west side of the river, in Northumberland.
