Overlooking the Fish Quay area, Wimpey Homes’ redevelopment of Union Square in the mid- 1990's was a notable ‘flagship project’, bringing new life to an historic area and acting as a catalyst for further riverside redevelopment. This area of the development is known as Union Stairs and, when viewed from the lower riverside area, looks mightily impressive as it sits on the steep embankment leading up to the town centre.
