Ami the figurehead
Ami the figurehead
Ami the figurehead on Upton Slip. Reputedly from the RMS Amazon, an 1851 Royal Mail paddle steamer which sank in 1952 with the loss of 104 lives. Months later the wreckage washed ashore at Falmouth and Ami was rescued to Upton Slip.
Sadly, she was vandalised in October 2018, but restored with fibreglass repairs.
