On Altnabreac station platform
One of Britain's most isolated stations, in the midst of the remote Flows Country and some wonderful walking routes.

On the left is the old station house, now owned by a couple who dispute the right of Network Rail (and passengers) to access the station. As a result, trains haven't called here since November 2023.

Consequently, this view is currently only available to those with rights to drive on the estate (very few) or determined souls who walk or cycle the 6.5 miles from the public road at Loch More ND09024712. Having got here, according to reports, you may experience being verbally abused by the aforementioned couple. It now seems that they will soon find themselves in court, charged with interfering with the railway and trespassing upon it.

Let's hope that common sense prevails and that the station can soon be reopened.
