Footbridge and derelict lock on the Lancaster Canal
Footbridge and derelict lock on the Lancaster Canal
One of the higher of eight locks which formerly raised the level of the Lancaster Canal by 75 feet up to the level pound through to Kendal. The locks were abandoned and replace by weirs when the canal was severed by the construction of the M6 a short way to the north of here in the 1960s.
