Fifth Lock on the Glasson Branch
Fifth Lock on the Glasson Branch
The Glasson Branch connected the main line of the Lancaster Canal to the sea at Glasson Dock, lowering the level of water by 16 metres through seven locks. The locks were 14 ft wide, allowing the passage of two narrowboats simultaneously, or a wider vessel than normal canal traffic.
