In the days before the Levenmouth Rail Link was re-established this level crossing was open and allowed free access across the disused railway line and was a part of a popular woodland walk. However, now that the railway line is back in use, it has been closed and that particular avenue of recreation is no longer available!
Levenmouth Rail Link
After an absence of several decades the railway has returned to Levenmouth. Over a year of construction work (and traffic chaos) which included a new branch line from Thornton Junction, a new railway station at Cameron Bridge, a new railway station at Leven and much ancillary work to facilitate both pedestrian and vehicular access to these new stations has finally reconnected the Leven area with the national rail network. The first day of timetabled trains running on the new Levenmouth Rail Link was Sunday, 2nd June, 2024.
