Wildflower meadow at Maybole's Glebe
2 years ago, South Ayrshire Council sowed this area with a mix of annual and perennial wildflowers to enhance biodiversity. The meadows are controlled by cutting during spring and autumn. The annual flowers give a quick splash of colour while the less showy perennials give a longer pollination period for wildlife.
This shot features a mass of white Ox-eye Daisies. NS3009 : New flower bed in Maybole shows that Corn Marigold was dominant during the first season in 2022 but NS3009 : Wild flowers in Maybole shows the full mixture for that year.
