Royal Quays Marina North Shields
From the deck of the cruise ship MV Balmoral on a riverside quay. The marina is in what was the Albert Edward Dock. A dock was first started to be built here in the late 1870's called Coble Dene Dock, it was opened by the Prince and Princess of Wales in 1884 and renamed Albert Edward Dock in honour of the Princes visit. It was principally used for the importing of timber and pitprops for the coal mines.
