Former Bentley's brewery, Woodlesford
Brewery offices of 1828, listed grade II (List entry 1135684). Bentley's was a major West Yorkshire brewery, inventing the Yorkshire Square brewing method. The site was chosen for the location of a spring (hence the name Eshaldwell) but happened to be close to the later canal and railway on either side, aiding its growth as a regional brewer. It closed in 1982, the industrial buildings were demolished and the site eventually redeveloped for housing. Only this building remains. See LinkExternal link for a fuller history.
