The line of trees to the right marks the boundary of the original West Royd property, but the present park extends beyond it to the east.
Westroyd Park, Stanningley

West Royd was the mansion of John Butler (died 1884) who made his fortune as manager of the Stanningley Ironworks. The house itself, grade II listed, is now converted to flats, and its grounds are a public park with facilities including rose garden, tennis courts and a bowling green.
