Metal plate attached to stone post by the A64, in parish of SCAGGLETHORPE (RYEDALE District), West of Rillington Fields, on the verge behind path, opposite Bike and Pedestrian sign, on North side of road. Old Rydale iron plate, erected by the York to Scarborough turnpike trust in the 18th century.
