May day on Main Street – Grassington, North Yorkshire
A view northwards on Main Street in the North Yorkshire town of Grassington. The town was a centre of lead mining until 1875 and the traces of that vanished industry can still be seen on the moors around the town. This photo was taken on the day of a railtour organised by the Gloucestershire-based Pathfinder Tours of Woodchester, Stroud. Thanks to Bob Harvey and David Pugh for locating this one.
