TL2107 : Gate at Nast Hyde Halt
taken 2 months ago, near to Hatfield, Hertfordshire, England
Gate at Nast Hyde Halt
Just in TL2107 by a few metres the old railway style gate is where a former line between St Albans and Hatfield crossed Ellenbrook Lane behind me.
A short way along is Nast Hyde Halt, a small station on the line which last saw passengers in 1951 and was totally disused by 1969.
Rescued from looking like this
TL2107 : Alban Way. Old Nast Hyde Halt Station. Hatfield. the station is now well looked after, with planting, seats and railway memorabilia making it a pleasant place to take a break.
Also coffee served by the stationmaster himself if you're here at the right time.
