Church at Whitworth Park
The church at Whitworth Park was founded in the Twelfth Century, but this building dates back to 1850. There are two tombs outside the church which appear to have effigies of a "king" and a "queen" and are in a shelter.
NZ2334 : Church at Whitworth Park The tombs are ascribed by one authority to Thomas de Acle (died c.1290) and his wife. The church is in the grounds of Whitworth Hall , the home at one time of the Shafto family - including 'Bonny Bobby Shafto'.
