The new Barmouth Bridge over the Afon Mawddach
The old Barmouth Bridge and viaduct was over 150 years old and in poor condition so Network Rail have spent four years restoring the wooden structure and replacing the metal arches. The Cambrian line between Machynlleth and Pwllheli was fully reopened to train services on Saturday 2 December, together with the pedestrian walkway alongside.
