The baptistry of Liverpool Metropolitan (Roman Catholic) Cathedral is near to the main entrance. The font is a plain near-white cylinder of stone. The baptistry has a grey and black floor and bronze gates by David Atkins.
The Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King, Liverpool

The Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King at Liverpool is the largest Catholic cathedral in England. Construction began in 1962 and was completed in 1967 to a design by Frederick Gibberd. Although earlier designs for a cathedral were proposed in 1853, 1933, and 1953, none were completed (LinkExternal link a brief history).
