J3575 : Wallace Hartley's violin in the Titanic Belfast Museum
taken 2 years ago, near to Belfast, Co Antrim, Northern Ireland

Wallace Hartley's violin in the Titanic Belfast Museum.
Of all the artefacts saved from the Titanic, the most precious and also the most moving is the violin that was being played by the bandleader Wallace Hartley as the ship was sinking. It was still strapped to his body when it was found floating in the sea. The violin was a gift from his fiancée Maria Robinson and a hallmark has the words engraved on it: “For Wallace on the occasion of our engagement from Maria”. This is that violin as seen in the Titanic Belfast Museum.
