Lancaster Cathedral
Lancaster Cathedral, also known as The Cathedral Church of St Peter was a Roman Catholic parish church until 1924, when it was elevated to the status of a cathedral. The present building was designed by Lancaster architect Edward Paley in a 14th century Gothic style and was consecrated in 1850. The spire rises to the dizzy heights of 240 feet, at its pinnacle is a cross which is over 9ft high and 4ft wide.
The cathedral is a Grade II* listed building (List Entry Number: 1214397 Link Historic England)
