The road is approaching the farm buildings at Grasslees which are just around the bend. The minor stream, Grasslees Burn lies to the left out of the image where it forms in part the boundary of the Northumberland National Park.
The distant sign close to the centre of the image warns that there's a military firing range on that side of the road.
