Last day of St John's indoor market, Stafford
The market closed for the final time within 30 minutes of this image being taken. Many of the stalls had been unused for some years, The final traders were given three weeks to move out. The building will be demolished and replaced by some other retail space. The brick tower of a former Wesleyan Chapel will remain. The chapel was built in 1863 replacing an older one. The chapel closed in the 1980s and only this tower remains.
